Boys Team banquet dinner  is Tuesday the 22nd at 6:30pm at DHS.
We will have the sign up sheets for theSnack Shack/memorabilia tent
nd spirit wear for sale,as well as the raffle tickets for the hand

painted clogs donated by Romney Dodd.

Thank you to everyone who has taken a shift at the snack shack....the

next round of games will be State May 24-26!

PLEASE go to the link to sign up for a shift. Click on the link and

fill in your name and number. We are happy to train anyone who has not

done it before and refresh those that have. It is easy, it is fun and

you get to enjoy the game too. As long as an adult over 21 is present

you can have a child age 14 or older work with you.

We are also hosting the memorabilia tent for purchasing state shirts,

sweats, sweatshirts etc. We will receive 10% of the total sales for all

three days so this is just an extra fundraising boost for Dimond

Soccer! Please take a look and sign up for a shift, the times match up

with the snack shack schedule.

If anyone has taken the food permit test or has a food permit, please

bring your card with you or a copy and we can post it in the Snack

shack!

The JV game against Chugiak previously scheduled for Saturday has been forfeited by Chugiak due to player injuries.

May 4 Varsity Game rescheduled for May 10!

Just a reminder that the game against East originally scheduled for Friday May 4th has been moved to next Thursday, May 10th, 3pm at Dimond.

New Shoes: Fundraiser Opportunity

We are selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a pair of hand painted

clogs, donated by Romney Dodd. The winner will be able to choose her

design.

You can purchase the tickets at the snack shack. There will probably be

a few of us that will have tickets for sale outside the snack shack, so

please contact Janine at jleist@gci.net or 440-2848 for more information

about who has tickets.

If you would like to get some tickets to sell, please contact Janine.  The price

is $5.00 each or 5 for $20. The drawing will be May 26th; need not be

present to win. All tickets will need to be turned in to Janine by May 25th

if you take some to sell.

When selling tickets at the snack shack, you will need to keep the money

separate. We will have a jar for the tickets and an envelope for the

money.

Sell them to friends, family, neighbors etc........ Mother's Day is

coming up; what a great gift!

Weekly Update, April 23

Well congratulations, Varsity, on a nail biter against South!  We will play them again on May 5th on our home turf, which is also our last home game and Senior Appreciation Night.  Seniors please get your information forms done.  Jane will collect them at Wednesday's practice.  If you can't find the form we handed out, you can go online to http://tinyurl.com/dimondseniorsoccer2 and fill it out on-line.  Remember these will be read at half time with parents, siblings, grandparents etc... in the audience so make your comments with that in mind. (And if we don't get any comments from you, we won't have anything to say!!!)

Jane will also be collecting JV and Varisty envelopes for the 5K Graze to Raise this Wednesday at practice.  Please make sure you have the cash or check and release forms in the envelope you hand me.  There will be a little something special for all who participate. 

We have placed another spirit wear order so if you are interested in either of the sweatshirts, beanie hats or blankets, please see Jane.  For those that ordered the white crew and received one that had the pink stain: the replacements are here and Jane will be handing those out at practice this week.

Please be checking our  website for the latest updates on games.  Hopefully we will get outside this week.  Varsity is currently scheduled for Thursday, 4/26 at AFS (the schedule handed out at kick off night said Friday which was incorrect) and Saturday, 4/28  at the DHS turf. JV is currently scheduled to play on Friday 4/27 and Saturday 4/28, both at the South turf. Colby Ferguson is hosting this week's varsity team dinner on Friday, April 27th.  Time and directions will be given out at practice this week.  A big thank you to the Henke family for hosting last week's team dinner.

Varsity/JV Update: Week of April 16

A huge thank you to all the boys & parents who helped shovel off a portion of the turf on Saturday.  The amount of snow is stubborn evidence of our record-breaking snow fall this year!
  

JV News: 

  

The ASD website currently shows JV playing Eagle River at Dimond, Thursday, April 19th at 7pm. (This game is no  longer on the schedule.)   Keep checking our website for the most current schedule information.  Rescheduling of JV games is on hold until we know when the fields will be usable and how many games need to be rescheduled.  Games will be scheduled where they can, likely back to back as well as three in a row.  JV season may also be extended to run concurrent with the Region Tournament.

There will be no JV practice on Friday, in order for everyone to come and cheer Dimond Varsity on against South at the Dome at 2:50.  Directly following the Varsity game there will be a JV team dinner at Kyle Stone's House located at 9311 Shorecrest Drive.  (Go East on Dimond, left on Endicott, and right on Shorecrest.)    

Varsity News:  

 It will be a busy week with our game against Eagle River 6:30pm on Tuesday at the Dome and our much anticipated match against South  at 2:50 on Friday at the Dome. Keep checking our website or the ASD site (link on the right of this page) at for the latest schedule information.

There will be a team dinner , Monday, April 16th right after practice at Jake Henke's House. Address: 7740 Berry Circle.

Graze to Raise:

Please continue selling your "5K Graze to Raise"  as Jane Sedor  will be at practice on Wednesday, April 25th to collect your envelopes.  Remember you are not giving the people anything at the point of sale.  You are just collecting their cash and/or check made out to Dimond Boys Soccer (or Alaska Visitor Industry Charity Walk) and filling out a release form for each walker.  These go into your envelope.  Once we register our team on Monday, April 30th we will be given bibs that are the tickets for this event.   You will need to hand these bibs out to whomever you sold the "5K Graze to Raise" to, as these are their tickets to get in.  If you have any questions or need more brochures or release forms see Jane Sedor or Sheema.

Scheduling Changes and More...

Calendar Changes:

There have been several changes in our JV and Varsity schedules due to weather and other issues. Our calendar has been updated and the ASD calendar has as well. Please make sure and note the differences.

In particular we do NOT have a Varsity dinner at Cory Schneider's house this Friday.

Also, the Varsity dinner at the Henke home has been moved to Monday, April 16. Time TBD.

Senior Appreciation Day:

Senior Appreciation Day is MAY 5, during halftime at the Varsity game. Senior players: please fill out a brief questionnaire to help us prepare our program and comments for the announcer. A paper version will be provided at practice, but we have the survey online as well, which makes it easier and faster than tracking paperwork!

Varsity Weekly Update, April 9

Hope you had a great Easter weekend!  Our August 9 game against Service in the Dome at 2:50pm was supposed to be our last indoor game but, barring a heat wave, it looks  unlikely that Saturday's game against Eagle River will be played at the Dimond Turf.

There will be a Varsity team dinner this Friday evening, April 13th, at Cory Schneider's house located at 10621 Lone Tree. (Take O'Malley past Birch and the fire station. Turn left on Main Tree, then the first left on Lone Tree Drive, and it will be the cedar sided home with green trim on the right.) The time will be determined once the coaches set the practice schedule for the week.


There will be a Booster Meeting this Tuesday, April 10th at 5pm at Las Margaritas on Dimond & C street. We will be talking about Senior Appreciation Day and putting together a plan. Everyone is invited!


Please continue selling your 5 "5K Graze to Raise" tickets. Sheema and Jane Sedor have extra brochures and releases if you need them.


Our Spirit Wear order has shipped and should be here sometime this week :-)

Varsity Weekly Update, April 2

Congratulations on your victory against Chugiak last Thursday and a hard fought match against West on Saturday!  This week we will have a break from games, so remember to be selling your 5 "5K Graze to Raise" Tickets.  Jane Sedor will be at the beginning of practice Monday to answer any questions.  She will also have extra brochures and release forms if anybody needs them.

There will be a booster club meeting a week from this Tuesday, April 10th at Las Margaritas on Dimond at 5pm.  We will be discussing Senior Appreciation Day, which will be our last home game May 5th against South.  Everyone is invited to attend.
 We have also reserved the Auditeria at Dimond HS for our end-of-season banquet.  It will be held Tuesday, May 22nd at 6:30 pm, so make sure to put it on your calendars.


The spirit wear order has been placed and should be in sometime the week of April 9th.  We do have a few extras ordered that will be first come, first serve.  We also have beanie hats ($20) left over from kick off night, so see Jane Sedor if you are interested.

Season Kick-off Meeting

Thanks to all who attended our Kick-Off meeting this Wednesday. We had a wonderful turnout. Here are a few details in case  you missed the meeting:

• Schedules were passed out. This website will be updated with information. You can also see the most current calendar at the ASD Activities site.
• We have several fundraisers to help our team. One is the Snack Shack. Please visit this link to sign up to help run the Snack Shack in April and May. You can find out more about our fundraisers by clicking the "Fundraising" Tab on our site.
• Jane Sedor, Booster Club president, will send out weekly informational e-mails. If you'd like to receive the emails, please contact her at her email address:  jsedor at gci dot net.
